Rental Terms

All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or vehicle collection. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your responsibilities for the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the latter will prevail.

Eligibility Criteria

Renting a vehicle requires:

• To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Wirral, you must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type. A valid full driving licence appropriate to the vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of your current address. You will also need to provide valid payment details and a security deposit, as well as meet any further requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.

3. Reservations and Payments

• Reservations can be completed via our website, over the phone, or in person at our Wirral location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. All pricing is in British Pounds (£) and includes VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely by trusted payment providers.

Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off

• Prior to taking possession of the vehicle, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be generated and must be signed by both parties. Upon returning the vehicle, it should be in a condition matching its initial state, subject to normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charges will apply as necessary. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as when collected; if not, refueling charges will be assessed. Late returns could result in extra fees, so please inform us immediately if you expect a delay. You are accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, and associated administrative fees incurred during your rental.

5. Coverage and Responsibility

• All rentals include basic third-party insurance. You can find full coverage details and any applicable excess amounts in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to help limit your financial liability, so we suggest reviewing these carefully. You will be accountable for damage or loss up to the excess amount unless you opt for extra insurance. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.

6. Modifications and Cancellations

Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Keep in mind that late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges, which will be outlined in your agreement.

7. Restricted Activities

Prohibited Vehicle Uses

• The vehicle must not be used for illegal activities, including racing, rallying, or off-roading. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Users may not sub-let the vehicle or permit unauthorized drivers. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purposes and within specified passenger and weight limits. Travel beyond agreed geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.

Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.

8. Liability Limitations

To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire in Wirral will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, linked to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your rental in the past year. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.

9. Local Legislation

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.

10. Updates to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
